MHD Sadek Almiski

About the Physician

Muhamad Sadek Almiski has served as Medical Director of Transfusion Medicine and Senior Hematopathologist at Sidra Medicine since August 2023, after working from 2010 to 2023 at Shared Health Manitoba, University of Manitoba, and Canadian Blood Services.

He worked for short terms in other Canadian institutions, including St John Eastern Health, Vancouver General Hospital, Saskatoon Royal University Hospital, and Kelowna General Hospital.

 

Khalid Al Ansari

About the Physician

Dr. Khalid Al Ansari is the inaugural Chairman of Level One Trauma Emergency Department and Urgent Care Sidra. He is the founder of the National Poison Center and the founder of the Child Advocacy Program in Qatar. He is also the Chairman of the Sidra Medicine Hospital Resuscitation Program.

Amrita Sarpal

About the Physician

Dr. Sarpal joined Sidra Medicine in February 2019 as a senior attending pediatric critical care physician with dual training in pediatric critical care and pediatric palliative care. She worked previously at the University of Western Ontario, where she had been a practicing pediatric intensivist for approximately six years.

Alia Satti

About the Physician

Dr. Alia Satti is an Attending Physician specialized in Developmental Pediatrics and Rehabilitation Medicine at Sidra Medicine. She joined the organization in 2019.

In her role, Dr. Satti collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to assess and manage children from birth to 18 years old who experience communication, social, intellectual, learning and  behavioral challenges and mobility impairment.

Sami Ahmed Mohamed Omer

About Sami

Dr. Sami Omer obtained his medical degree from the University of Khartoum in Sudan in 1996. He obtained a Master’s degree in International Health from Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany in 2002. Dr. Omer completed his Psychiatry training in the Republic of Ireland. In 2006 he became a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, UK and received a certificate of completion of specialist training in General Adult and Geriatric Psychiatry from the College of Psychiatrists of Ireland in 2011.

Ashley Robinson

About the Physician

Dr. Ashley Robinson is the Acting Chair of Radiology.  Dr Ashley joined Sidra Medicine in April 2014 as the Division Chief of Interventional Radiology. He has been Vice Chair continuously since joining and has also been Acting Chair between June 2018 - February 2019 and October 2020 - July 2021.  
He did his radiology residency in Manchester (UK) and four fellowships in USA and Canada in pediatric radiology, pediatric neuroradiology, pediatric interventional radiology and general and obstetric ultrasound.

Barbara Blackie

About Barbara

Education Lead & Senior Attending Physician

Dr. Barbara Blackie is the Education Lead and a Senior Attending Physician for the Department of Emergency Medicine at Sidra, providing faculty development and overseeing the education plan for the large multinational group of physicians and nurse practitioners who will open the Sidra Emergency Department. She is a Master Trainer for the TeamSTEPPS program at Sidra. Barbara is very active in the CME/CPD processes at Sidra, and sat on the CME/CPD Committee for 3 years.

Tawfeg Ben-Omran

Dr. Tawfeg Ben-Omran is the Division Chief of Genetics and Genomic Medicine at Sidra Medicine, a women’s and children’s hospital in the State of Qatar.

Khalid Alyafei

About the Physician

Dr. Khalid Alyafei holds now a position as division chief medical informatics and senior attending pediatrics emergency medicine at Sidra medicine. Dr. Alyafei has a lengthy experience in clinical operation, leadership, education and medical informatics. He held a position as program director of PEM fellowship at HMC on 2008. He assists in residents training & faculty development in providing didactic lectures and workshops in communication and medical professionalism.
