Education Lead & Senior Attending Physician

Dr. Barbara Blackie is the Education Lead and a Senior Attending Physician for the Department of Emergency Medicine at Sidra, providing faculty development and overseeing the education plan for the large multinational group of physicians and nurse practitioners who will open the Sidra Emergency Department. She is a Master Trainer for the TeamSTEPPS program at Sidra. Barbara is very active in the CME/CPD processes at Sidra, and sat on the CME/CPD Committee for 3 years.

Younes Boudjemline

About Younes

Dr. Younes is an Internationally recognized leader in interventional/non-surgical treatments of Congenital Heart Diseases and former director of Cardiac Catheterization laboratory in Necker For Sick Children Hospital and George Pompidou Adult Hospital (Paris, France), two of the biggest centers in Europe for treatment of Congenital and Structural Heart Diseases.

Sharon Bout-Tabaku

About Dr Sharon

Dr. Bout-Tabaku is Division Chief of Pediatric Rheumatology. She practiced at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, USA for 8 years. She was a portfolio coach/mentor for medical students at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Her research focused on the effects of obesity on the musculoskeletal system, specifically on pain, function and performance. 

Sindu Balakrishnan

About the Physician

Dr. Sindu Balakrishnan joined Sidra Medicine in April 2018. He is the lead for the pediatric pain service at Sidra Medicine which provides pain management for medical, surgical and complex patients. Dr. Sindu is also an instructor in multiple life support courses, airway and sedation courses conducted by the Hamad International Training Centre.

Ashok Kumar Oliparambil

About Dr Ashok

Dr Ashok has worked at Sidra Medicine since October 2017. He is an experienced Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist. Dr Ashok supports women with Gynecological conditions, both medically and surgically. He has expertise, and he provides holistic care to women in low and high-risk pregnancies.

Dr Ashok worked at Portland Hospital, London, which is an exclusive private hospital for women and children in the UK.

Aravanan Anbu Chakkarapani

About the Physician

Dr. Anbu Chakkarapani has been an esteemed Attending Physician at Sidra Medicine since November 2017 and concurrently holds an Assistant Professorship in Clinical Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medicine, Qatar. With a foundational postgraduate degree in pediatrics from India, Dr. Chakkarapani further honed his expertise in Canada through fellowships in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at McMaster University and the University of Toronto.

Nimra Amir

About Nimra

Dr Nimra Amir H K Dad has worked at Sidra Medicine since 2019. She is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist. She leads the activities that ensure the pathways for women undergoing both Obstetric and Gynecological surgery are coordinated safely, working closely within a multidisciplinary clinical team. As an experienced gynecologic surgeon and obstetrician, she supports women with Gynecological surgical needs as well as those pregnant patients with more complex pregnancies.

Khalid Alyafei

About the Physician

Dr. Khalid Alyafei holds now a position as division chief medical informatics and senior attending pediatrics emergency medicine at Sidra medicine. Dr. Alyafei has a lengthy experience in clinical operation, leadership, education and medical informatics. He held a position as program director of PEM fellowship at HMC on 2008. He assists in residents training & faculty development in providing didactic lectures and workshops in communication and medical professionalism.

Moath Alhamad

About the Physician

Dr. Moath Alhamad joined Sidra medicine in July 2019, and currently works as an attending physician in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). In the NICU, he serves as the leader of a multidisciplinary team of professionals (medical, nursing, and allied health), and - in collaboration with other medical and surgical specialties at Sidra - they take care of very sick full term and preterm infants with various medical and surgical conditions who are born at Sidra or referred to Sidra from other centers.
