Grace Leeuwen

About the Physician

Dr. van Leeuwen is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medicine – Qatar and has over 15 years of experience in Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care. She is a Senior Attending in Sidra Medicine's Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, joining in May 2019. She is also a member of the ethics committee and is responsible for the Neonatal and Pediatric ECMO transport program.

Pankaj Sakhuja

About the Physician

Dr. Sakhuja has over ten years of experience as a Neonatal consultant. He joined Sidra Medicine in November 2022 after serving in UK hospitals like Great Ormond Street and University College London Hospital.

With a passion for neonatal intensive care, his career spans over 20 years in various centers of excellence, including Singapore, Australia, the U.K., Canada, and Bahrain.

Haithem Babiker

About the Physician

Dr. Haithem Babiker is a plastic and hand surgeon who joined Sidra Medicine in April 2022. He holds both a Medical Degree (India) and a Dental Degree (University of Pennsylvania, USA).

Prior to joining Sidra Medicine, Dr. Babiker was an Associate Professor at the University of Cincinnati and an Attending at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital (one of the top pediatric institutions in the world). He was the Director of the Pediatric Plastic Craniofacial Fellowship and Director of the Maxillofacial Division.

Srinath Krishnappa

About the Physician

Dr. Srinath B Krishnappa joined Sidra Medicine as a Neonatal Hospitalist in 2020. He manages all types of neonatal illnesses, including extremely premature babies and infants with surgical and cardiac needs, among others.  He has a special interest in neonatal hemodynamics and has recently joined the Newborn hemodynamic group in the NICU after completing the QNiCHE functional echo training program.

Bilal Kabbara

About the Physician

Doctor Bilal is a pediatric otolaryngologist with a special interest in ear surgery with hearing restoration, in addition to endoscopic sinus surgery and pediatric tracheostomy care.

After earning his medical degree from the Lebanese University in 2008 and completing his residency program in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, Dr. Bilal did Fellowship training in Otology and Pediatric Otolaryngology at CHU-Toulouse in France (2013-2015).

Ghalib Daoud

About the Physician

Dr. Ghalib has worked as a hospital Neonatologist at Sidra Medicine since October 2018. He did a fellowship in Neonatology at the American University of Beirut and joined Sidra Medicine after graduation.

Since then, he has been taking care of premature babies, newborns with congenital malformations, and babies requiring surgical procedures. He also takes care of healthy newborns on the postnatal floor.

Ahmed Elhamed

About the Physician

Dr. Ahmed Elhamed has been a Pediatric Attending Physician in Diagnostic Imaging at Sidra Medicine since 2020.

Dr. Elhamed earned his MBChB (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) degree at Belarusian State Medical University in 2005. He completed his pediatric residency at Hamad Medical Corporation, Qatar in 2013. He also completed two pediatric fellowship programs, one at Hamad Medical Corporation in 2015 and another in 2018 at Sick Kids Hospital, University of Toronto, Canada.

Amrita Sarpal

About the Physician

Dr. Sarpal joined Sidra Medicine in February 2019 as a senior attending pediatric critical care physician with dual training in pediatric critical care and pediatric palliative care. She worked previously at the University of Western Ontario, where she had been a practicing pediatric intensivist for approximately six years.
