Duncan Macrae

About the Physician

Prof. Duncan Macrae trained in intensive care medicine and anesthesia in Scotland, London, and Australia. He joined Sidra Medicine in 2019 from London, UK, where he was a Consultant and Clinical Director at the Royal Brompton Hospital and previously Consultant in Intensive Care and ECMO at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

He is an acknowledged international expert in his field with over 200 publications and research contributions which include several large multicenter clinical trials.

 

Diana Bernal Quintero

About the Physician

Dr. Diana Bernal Quintero has been a consultant Pediatric and Fetal Cardiologist at Sidra Medicine since 2022.

Before this, she spent 13 years in the U.K., where she completed her specialist training in pediatric cardiology.  Her training was undertaken at Great Ormond Street Hospital, Royal Brompton Hospital in London, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and John Radcliffe Hospital (Oxford)

Muhammad Dilawar

About the Physician

Dr. Dilawar is a Pediatric Cardiologist who joined Sidra Medicine Heart Center in November 2017 as a Senior Attending Pediatric Cardiologist and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics.

His clinical responsibilities include outpatient clinical service and inpatient service, i.e., covering the cardiology floor, Neonatal Intensive Care, Pediatric Intensive Care and Cardiac Intensive Care Units, and Emergency Department coverage. He also reads ECGs and transthoracic, trans-esophageal, and epicardial echocardiograms.

About Younes

Dr. Younes is an Internationally recognized leader in interventional/non-surgical treatments of Congenital Heart Diseases and former director of Cardiac Catheterization laboratory in Necker For Sick Children Hospital and George Pompidou Adult Hospital (Paris, France), two of the biggest centers in Europe for treatment of Congenital and Structural Heart Diseases.

Hamza Elkhidir

About the Physician

Hamza Elkhidir, MD, completed his pediatric residency training at New York Medical College; he then joined the University of Texas School of Medicine, where he completed his critical care medicine fellowship in 2013.

Dr. Elkhidir spent an additional year at the University of Nebraska in a pediatric cardiology training program. Dr. Elkhidir joined Johns Hopkins All Children’s Heart Institute after completing his training as an attending physician before joining Sidra Medicine.

 

Haytham Ibrahim

About the Physician

Dr. Haytham obtained his medical degree at Ain Shams University, Faculty of Medicine in Egypt 1994.

His pediatrics residency was at Hamad General Hospital, Qatar, where he completed his fellowship training in the pediatric cardiology section.

Faraz Masud

About Faraz

Dr. Faraz Masud is a General Pediatric Cardiologist with 17 years of experience in Cardiology field. He completed his Basic Medical Degree from Punjab University, Pakistan. Following his medical degree he pursued with Post Graduate Fellowship training in Pediatric Medicine and then Pediatric Cardiology from Children hospital and Institute of Child Health, Lahore, Pakistan and did his Board certifications from College of Physician and Surgeons, Pakistan in both Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology.

Volkan Tuzcu

About the Physician

Internationally recognized leader and the founder of comprehensive electrophysiological and catheter ablation procedures without the use of fluoroscopy (X-ray) in children and adults. Performed the first comprehensive electrophysiological procedure without fluoroscopy in 2004 in the USA. Published extensively in peer-reviewed journals in the USA and internationally and was invited by several conferences and universities as an invited speaker. He is a world-renowned expert in cryoablation, a safer method of catheter ablation.

Saad Saeed

About the Physician

Dr. Saad Saeed joined heart center at Sidra Medicine in 2017. in addition to his other general cardiology responsibilities at Sidra Medicine, he continued his work in the development of pediatric cardiac MRI.

Dr. Saad Saeed has had the privilege to teach and coach medical students and has been involved in the Education & training of pediatric residents and fellows and since 2021 he is the program director of pediatric cardiology fellowship program. His specialty is General Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Imaging.
