Dr. Ahmed Shamekh is a Senior Attending Physician who was a Consultant Pediatrician at Kings College Hospital NHS Trust for over 12 years before joining Sidra Medicine in December 2017. Dr. Shamekh was the Lead Pediatrician for the Emergency Department at Princess Royal University Hospital. He has an interest in both Diabetes and Medical Education and has been the College Tutor leading the trainee education and training experience. Dr.

Muthukumar Sakthivel

Dr. Muthukumar Sakthivel is an Attending Physician, who was previously working as a Consultant Pediatrician in Emergency Department/Short stay Pediatric assessment unit at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, UK since Feb 2011.

Dr. Sakthivel completed specialist training in Pediatrics in UK. He was an examiner for Manchester Medical University and has served as a Clinical Reviewer for National Confidential Enquiry into Patient Outcome and Death. Dr. Sakhivel special interests include Emergency Pediatrics, Epilepsy and Neurodisability

Ayodeji Kadri

Dr. Ayodeji Kadri is an Acute General and Ambulatory Pediatrician who spent the last decade or so working at the Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Hampshire hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Dr. Kadri has an interest in Infectious Diseases and served as the Pediatric Lead for infections and immunization coordinator in his last role. Dr. Kadri holds a Master’s  of Science in the Applied Molecular Biology of Infectious diseases from the London School of Hygiene.

Dr. Khalid Ibrahim is a Senior Attending Pediatric Neurologist at Sidra Medicine and Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar. Before joining Sidra Medicine, Dr. Ibrahim served as a Chief of Pediatric Neurology Division at Hamad Hospital. He was also the former Pediatric Neurology Fellowship Program Director at Hamad Hospital. Former Clinical Lead for Epilepsy Service in North London, UK. Former Member of the Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network (SIGN).

Samir Gupta

About the Physician

Professor Samir Gupta, Division Chief of Neonatology, joined Sidra Medicine in 2018. He is Program Director of Qatar Neonatologist with an interest in cardiology and hemodynamics (Q-NiCHE) program. He manages newborns requiring intensive care, with expertise in complex multi-system problems, surgical babies, and infants with complex heart problems.

He was Professor of Neonatology, Durham University, UK; Medical Director of Research and Innovation, and Consultant Neonatologist at University Hospital, North Tees, UK.

Mamoun Elawad

About Dr. Mamoun

Dr. Elawad has his training in Pediatric gastroenterology at Great Ormond Street, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, Oxford John Radcliff Hospital and King’s College Hospital. He worked as a consultant Paediatric gastroenterologist at University Hospital of Wales and Birmingham Children’s Hospital before he rejoined Great Ormond Street Hospital in 2002 as a consultant gastroenterologist and senior lecturer at the University College of London.

Syed Sayeed Ahmed

Dr. Syed Sayeed Ahmed joined Sidra Medicine as Attending Physician -Pediatric Emergency in February 2018. He has nearly twenty years of well-rounded pediatric clinical experience in the UK, India and the Middle East. Prior to joining Sidra Medicine, Dr. Ahmed was working as Consultant Pediatrician in the UK. His special interests include Acute & Ambulatory Pediatrics, Respiratory Pediatrics & Allergy.

Roshan Adappa

About the Physician

Dr. Adappa joined Sidra Medicine in November 2017 and is a Senior Attending Physician in the Neonatal unit. He is currently the Medical Director for Education and Middle-Grade staff on the unit. He manages the education program and is the line manager for hospitalist doctors and nurse practitioners. He has expertise in databases and is part of the VON database team on the neonatal unit and is actively involved with analysis, supporting QI projects, and benchmarking.
